Based on fresh news from Bloomberg, it is said that Apple has ditched plans for a new highly powerful Mac Pro flaunting a M2 Extreme model. There has been a delay in launching a new Mac Pro and this explains why. Apple wanted to do the Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chip. The report also mentions several reasons why Apple is ditching the Extreme version of the Mac Pro.
One of the main reasons behind ditching the M2 Extreme chip was the complexities of making the chip and its production. On top of that, Apple has been wondering whether consumers would be ready to shell that amount of money for its Mac Pro model. In today's world, the Mac Pro would cost somewhere around $10000, which is a lot of money for a computer.
Nonetheless, Apple is now expected to announce new variants of the MacBook Pro models based on the M2 chip. In early 2023, Apple could announce the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. A new Mac Mini is also expected to break cover, and could rely on the M2 chip.
