Indie studio Innersloth has released a Halloween update for their most well-known release: Among Us. Version 2022.10.18 adds spooky cosmetic elements, bug fixes, and various improvements to the Among Us experience.
While not as widely played as it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, Among Us continues to be a popular game night pick and a way to make online friends around the world. In a Visionaries podcast episode, Innersloth co-founder Marcus Bromander admitted that Among Us was abandoned prior to its viral success. Yet, with the implementation of social distancing and quarantine, gamers and non-gamers alike found enjoyment in the space-themed social deduction game. Even after its heyday, Innersloth keeps rolling out big and small changes in Among Us for eager fans.
Meat Company Sends Nugget to Space as Part of Among Us Collaboration
Innersloth Community Manager Chris Dorsey explained the various Halloween updates in a dev log. Spooky decorations now adorn MIRA HQ and The Skeld. Chewie, a mini crewmate and one of the Among Us cosmetic pets, will match the player's selected crewmate color. Cosmicubes containing assorted Halloween-themed items, such as witch hats and werewolf ears, are available in the store until October 31. Dorsey also briefly mentioned an upcoming «Hide n Seek release» that is currently being playtested.
Further updates address existing game issues and aim to improve user experience. While previously the map showed the location of an emergency meeting, the update allows players to see their last location at the time the meeting was called instead.
