The latest innovation to come to Alienware's PC monitors is all about creating a convenient place to hang your gaming headset.
Dell’s Alienware brand today announced two new monitors that, for the first time, include a built-in retractable hanger for your headset. It can pop out from the side of the monitor, and is designed to help keep your desk clutter-free after you remove your headset.
Both displays also have fairly high refresh rates. The first monitor, the AW2523HF, has a 25-inch screen that boasts a 360Hz refresh rate and 0.5-millisecond response time. “Designed with feedback from pro gamers, this monitor is esports-optimized for competitive gaming,” Alienware said in its announcement.
The product uses an IPS panel with a 1080p resolution. It supports HDR10, comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 connection, and several USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, along with a headphone jack. In addition, the monitor has received AMD FreeSync Premium Technology and VESA AdaptiveSync certifications.
The second, larger monitor, the AW2723DF, is 27 inches, but has a lower refresh rate at 240Hz, along with a 1-millisecond response time. However, its screen can be overclocked to 280Hz.
It also uses an IPS “Nano Color” panel that supports HDR600, but the screen has a higher resolution at 1440p. The other difference is that it's received Nvidia G-Sync-compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certifications, along with the VESA AdaptiveSync certification.
The 25-inch AW2523HF monitor will go on sale in North America on Sept. 7 for $449. The 27-inch model will launch in the same markets on Oct. 6 for $649.99.
