Shameless Star Emmy Rossum Cast As Tom Holland's Mother In New TV Show
Shameless alum Emmy Rossum has joined the cast of Apple TV+'s upcoming series, The Crowded Room, where she will play the lead opposite Tom Holland. Described as a seasonal anthology that will span 10 episodes in its first season, The Crowded Room is being developed byA Beautiful Mind screenwriter Akiva Goldsmith. The new show will follow a different set of characters through their struggles with mental illness in every season, demonstrating how people can successfully live life with psychological disorders. Season 1 is said to have taken inspiration from Goldman's own life, as well as Daniel Keyes’ biography ofBilly Milligan, the first person who was acquitted for a crime on the basis of his dissociative identity disorder. Earlier, it was reported that MCU's Spider-Man, Holland, would lead the series as Danny Sullivan, who is loosely based on Milligan, and now another actor has been confirmed for the show.
