Based on the book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by author and journalist David Grann, the story of the film is set in the early 1900s and centers around a series of murders in the Osage Nation in Oklahoma, which sparked a widespread investigation from the FBI led by a young J. Edgar Hoover and Texas Ranger Tom White.
