DCEU Fans are rejoicing over Ben Affleck's reported return as Batman in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. After James Wan's 2018 Aquaman movie made a splash at the box office, becoming the DCEU's only feature to cross the $1-billion mark, WB and DC quickly put Aquaman 2 in development with Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II returning as Arthur Curry, Mera, Orm Marius/Ocean Master, and David Kane/Black Manta, respectively. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is expected to expand on the franchise's worldbuilding, exploring the Seven Kingdoms of Atlantis in greater depth and introducing several new characters and mythical creatures to the fold.
