Moon Knight Originally Had Marvel's Most Pathetic Origin
Marvel Comics' Moon Knight originally had a generic and unappealing origin story which the publisher eventually retconned. First appearing in Werewolf by Night #32, Marc Spector was a hired gun who was given the costume, gear, and title by his employers. Despite the hilarity of acknowledging how ridiculous he looks; his popularity saw Marvel continue the character allowing his backstory to be further fleshed out. In time, his origin story had become completely rewritten by gradually introducing elements and characters such as the god Khonshu, while also maintaining his past and present continuity.
