Wuchang: Fallen Feathers developer Leenzee has provided numerous updates on its upcoming action RPG lately. First, there was the lore trailer, outlining the backstory for the setting and now there’s a developer diary with director, CTO and studio founder Xia Siyuan.
Check it out below. Based in Sichuan, the development team took inspiration from the “figures and folklore of the late Ming Dynasty” alongside the “myths of the Ancient Shu and Sanxingdui relics.” The Chisel is a core part of the plot, providing the power of reincarnation and driving protagonist Wuchang “forward through the chaos.” Despite her lack of memories, Wuchang isn’t powerless.
She can wield five weapon types with 25 unique weapons in total, each possessing different combat styles and techniques. Players can equip a main and secondary weapon, seamlessly switching to chain combos.
There are also 40 different spells, with four available to equip at any point. If you want to focus purely on spell-casting instead of weapons, that’s also possible.
It’s also possible to test different spells and skills at the Shrine at no additional cost. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launches later this year for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC alongside Game Pass.
