Unfortunately, you'll also find that making friends in is harder than in later versions. The good news is that making and maintaining friends isn't impossible, and there are methods you can do to help your Sims become social butterflies.
Sinceincludes Pack, it has the updated relationship bars that expansion introduced to the series. This means you have the lifetime relationship bar on the bottom and the daily relationship bar on the top for each Sim your Sim knows, similar to the rest of the series.
These bars range from -100 to 100 to show the nature of your Sim's relationship with each Sim they've interacted with at least once.
When you start playing a household, you'll have neighbors come to welcome you. If your goal is making friends, then it's helpful to greet them to start adding Sims to your relationship tab so you can contact them later and continue building a friendship with them.
