MazM, also known as Growing Seeds, has released a new short-form visual novel game on Android. It’s called The Black Cat: Usher’s Legacy and it lets you dive deep into classic literature.
The game is based on the eerie, unsettling world of Edgar Allan Poe’s stories. The Black Cat takes inspiration from Poe’s short stories, particularly The Black Cat and The Fall of the House of Usher, and a bit of The Tell-Tale Heart for good measure.
It’s a ride full of guilt, madness and things that may or may not be real but are definitely terrifying. If you’ve read these stories or any other work by the legendary author, you know how the stories are.
The game does the same, throwing you into a world where death isn’t just an end but a presence. It’s something woven into the fabric of everyday life, just like Poe always wrote about.
The Black Cat is about creeping dread, hidden tragedies and confronting the things that lurk in the corners of your mind at night.
