The Nintendo Switch 2 has built-in motion-control mouse features which would improve playing. The series was always PC-first, with console versions being an afterthought.
The native controller input is rather unintuitive, requiring slower movement and strange input combinations. While it was possible to plug in a USB mouse and keyboard into the first Switch, the experience wasn’t always great.
Some commands would not work and there could still be lag when using a mouse. The Switch 2 was only recently announced and details about the Joy-Con mouse haven’t been fully detailed.
Some patent images show that the Joy-Cons can be held on their sides, with both of the sticks facing inwards. It is unclear if this will be a simple right or left option, or if both need to be used at the same time.
Perhaps Nintendo is waiting for players to get a hands-on Switch 2 demo before they finalize the design. is a much better experience when using a mouse.
