Recent app-tracking data has indicated that Capcom’s release of the Resident Evil 2 remake on iOS devices hasn’t been doing too well in terms of sales numbers.
According to MobileGamer.biz, the game has only managed to cross $100,000 in in-app purchase revenue since its release back in December.
The report, which tracked sales data from the game’s December 10 release on iOS to January 8, indicates that only around 9,500 players have paid for the title on Apple devices running on iOS, since the game was priced at $10 with a launch-month discount.
Since then, the title has gone up in price to $40, earning Capcom around $7,000 more. Far from the first time Capcom hasn’t quite seen good sales on releasing its titles to iOS devices, a report from July 2024 indicated that the iOS release of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard had also been poorly received, totalling up to less than 83,000 downloads at the time and less than 2,000 copies sold.
The report by MobileGamer.biz has also indicated that even Ubisoft’s attempts at releasing AAA titles on iOS devices hasn’t quite been successful, with total lifetime revenue for Assassin’s Creed Mirage on iOS totalling up to around $496,000.
