Krafton makes further cuts to Striking Distance

Korean games firm Krafton has made another wave of layoffs at The Callisto Protocol studio Striking Distance. The news first broke on LinkedIn, with staff affected taking to the platform to lament the job cuts that had befallen the studio.

Since then, Krafton has confirmed the layoffs to PC Gamer, though insists that the developer is still operational.  "Striking Distance Studios has reduced the size of its team to remain agile, which creates a sustainable environment for the studio at its current stage of development," a spokesperson for Krafton said.  "The studio remains operational, and these changes will not impact any planned ongoing support.

No further changes are planned at this time." Striking Distance laid off 32 members of staff back in 2023, about a fifth of its then headcount.

The studio was founded back in 2019 by Sledgehammer vet Glen Schofield; its first title, The Callisto Protocol, made its debut in 2022.
