If it wasn’t enough that an anime for Ghost of Tsushima is in the works, Sony also announced at CES 2025 that Helldivers is getting a motion picture.
According to The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, it’s produced by Sony Pictures, though further details – like the plot and casting – have yet to be revealed.
As out of left field as the announcement may initially seem, it makes perfect sense given the success of Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2.
Launched in February 2024, it became the fastest-selling title of all time for PlayStation, crossing 15 million players in November.
It would subsequently become one of the top-selling games of 2024 on Steam. Helldivers 2 has received numerous updates in December, the latest adding the Illuminate and a collaboration with Killzone.
