Helldivers 2 has been one of 2024's most beloved titles ever since launch, proving that live service titles can be extremely popular if they're properly supported and fans are properly respected.
Unfortunately, Arrowhead is now throwing a lot of that goodwill into the trash, as players recently found out that they'll need to sign up to a PlayStation Network and link it to Steam if they want to continue playing the game past June 4.
It's caused a mass uproar on social media, with fans review bombing the title in droves in an effort to voice their displeasure with this upcoming change.
It's now got to the point where players have started putting in refund requests with Valve, calling on the company to allow refunds and that Sony's practice of forcing people to create accounts after purchase "should be illegal".
For those requesting refunds, the idea of them getting money back after hundreds of hours of playtime is fanciful at best, but those that live in countries that don't have access to PSN may have a case on their hands.
