The first full trailer of teases that the eponymous serial killer, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, might not be dead. The last time viewers saw Dexter Morgan on screen was in the final episode of Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022), in which it appeared he was fatally shot.
However, given what the trailer hints, that probably wasn’t the case. Dexter Morgan could still be alive even after the events of the Dexter: New Blood finale.
In the Original Sin trailer, it is indicated that Hall’s Dexter will serve as the inner voice of the younger version of the character, played by Patrick Gibson.
The trailer also shows what seems like the immediate aftermath of Harrison (Jack Alcott) shooting his father. Dexter is taken to the Emergency Room of a hospital where the doctors work on him.
Further, the trailer indicates that the entire narrative of Original Sin is effectively Dexter’s life flashing before his eyes as he lies on the emergency room bed.
