Black Myth: Wukong has taken the PC gaming scene by storm making records as a game with one of the highest concurrent amount of players on Steam. It’s been described as God of War with Chinese mythology and a solid action RPG. It’s also a game that really takes advantage of a lot of NVIDIA technologies.

There are games that I enjoy, and there are games that I love. Then there are occasion live service games that I obsess over. Once about every four or five years, I let myself fall into a sort of hypnotized love with a game, to the point where I think about it day and night. I play these games way too much, for way too long. I research online the best ways to optimize my time. I make spreadsheets. I wake up in the middle of the night, get out of bed, and go play, because as soon as the thought of the game enters my mind, I know I won't be going back to sleep. And eventually, after a few months, I come to my senses and walk away.

There was a time when Sony Interactive Entertainment, or PlayStation for short, had a relative wealth of popular mascots – Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Parappa the Rapper, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper, to name a few. Then came the more mature mascots, if you will, such as Kratos and Nathan Drake. Kratos has since returned with the modern God of War games, as have the duo of Ratchet & Clank, while Nathan Drake is seemingly retired. We’ve also grown to love (or hate, depending on who you ask) Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai, and The Last of Us’ Joel and Ellie. But somehow, a diminutive, charming automaton named Astro Bot has managed to capture the hearts of PlayStation fans, and perhaps embody the very soul of an entire ecosystem.

Dragon Age The Veilguard is the fourth game in the Dragon Age franchise and it’s been a long time coming for this one. Formerly known as Dreadwolf, The Veilguard moved the series to a more action oriented style and seemed to have sold pretty well for EA and BioWare.

I’ve played a grand total of three matches of Blindfire since receiving it last week. Not because I don’t like it, or because it’s a bad game, or even because it’s a broken game. Nope, instead, it’s because no one is playing Blindfire, and that’s an absolute, crying-out-loud, gosh-damned shame, because this game has “it”. I play a lot of competitive shooters, often for dozens or sometimes hundreds of hours – Battlefield, Call of Duty, The Finals, and on and on I could go. Which is to say that Blindfire is one of the most unique first-person shooters I’ve ever played.

How do you feel about revisiting previously played games? I love to revisit family all the time. Video games though, are a little different. I am straightforward when it comes to how I tackle a game. I like to play and see it to my personal conclusion, whether that is beating the game, or often giving up and forgetting about it. I do that plenty with games I am not reviewing; it is always the games I purchased that get ignored most. When I first tried out Fabledom, it was as a preview for Gaming Nexus. Since then about a year has come and gone, and Fabledom has grown. I recently had the chance to return to and see how development finished. Turns out, the path it was on was made with care and support.

I’ve never tried to hide the fact that I adore Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. It’s not a perfect game, but it is one of the best simulators on the market, particularly on consoles. I pop-in for a patrol shift here and there after originally reviewing it when it launched nearly two years ago. The latest reason for my return to duty is the new Highway Patrol Expansion that has added a surprising amount of content and changes to the game. The term “expansion” is thrown around a lot nowadays, especially with live service games, but developer Aesir Interactive has delivered what feels like a true expansion for PS:PO.

During 2020, I picked up a hobby of making an arcade machine. It was something to get me to learn wiring, soldering, and design as I wanted to tailor a bartop arcade machine to my liking. It was a fun project that got a lot of use out from my family and it brought back some great nostalgic memories of going to the arcade when I was a kid.
