Despite being one of the most successful games released by Remedy Entertainment, Alan Wake II still hasn't recouped its expenses, according to a new financial report.

In the company's financial statement for the first quarter of 2024, Remedy Entertainment confirmed how the second entry in the series, which sold 1.3 million copies as of this February, still hasn't recouped development and marketing costs.

It has to be said, however, that it shouldn't be too far from doing so, as most of the investment was said to be recouped last month. Remedy was asked about a possible Steam release during yesterday's Q&A session, but the answer doesn't really leave the door open, as a release on other PC storefronts is a "speculation" the studio cannot do.

On a related note, as reported by GamesIndustry, Tencent has increased its shareholding investment in the Alan Wake II developer, increasing its stake from 5% to 14%.
