Fortnite OG Will Reportedly Return As A Separate Mode

Fortnite OG, the return to the first-ever season of the game, was a huge success for Epic. It smashed the all-time player peak with over three million players in mere days, so it wasn't much of a surprise when it was announced to be returning this year. However, according to prominent leaker Hypex, it'll be a separate mode this time.

As spotted by Egyptian Fortnite Leaker (and corroborated by SpushFNBR), a playlist tag was added for Season OG, all but confirming that it will be a standalone mode. This could even mean that Epic intends for it to be a permanent fixture, rather than another part of the year's season, something fans have been asking for since OG launched in November.

Epic Games' head of Fortnite's ecosystem Saxs Persson said that when Fortnite OG returns this year, it won't be the same. Launching it as a separate mode certainly fits that sentiment.

There aren't any more details about what we can expect or when it will be arriving, but the return of OG is clearly being set in motion. It being in a separate tab this time is a big difference, but what else is being changed is up in the air.

Not only are there new skins underway, but Lego versions of existing cosmetics, as a whole batch have been updated to fit the recently added survival mode. To name a few, you can now live the farm life as Thanos (hopefully with a little less beheading), Wolverine, and Jack Skellington.

The current season's map has also been updated, with a lot of the snow melting away as we look forward to Spring. You can find the Anvil Rocket Launcher dotted about again while, behind the scenes, the Explosive Bow and Jules' Drum Gun have been updated, so perhaps we'll see them join the
