Xbox has announced that all services have resumed as per normal. Players should no longer be facing issues when it comes to launching or purchasing games, and starting Xbox Cloud Gaming sessions. "Players should no longer be seeing issues when it comes to purchases, launching games, or joining Cloud Gaming sessions. Thanks for being patient. Happy gaming," said a tweet by Xbox support this morning.
Yesterday a number of players reported that they were unable to access online features or even boot up games on their Xbox in offline mode. Of course, this sent a lot of players into a frenzy, considering it's also the weekend. At the time Xbox Support acknowledged the issue and tweeted saying that it was looking into it urgently.

Over time, the team at Microsoft was able to bring back all functions one step at a time. The first fix was for the ability to complete purchases. However, the next update came around six hours later, saying that the teams were still working to fix the issue. Around two hours later, a partial fix was managed, but the full resolution took around an hour more.
Eventually, the whole ordeal was fixed this morning. Sure, you didn't get to play video games this weekend, but imagine the Microsoft staff who had to drop their weekends completely and head to work to fix this.
