God of War quickly blew up when it launched back in 2018, with many fans praising the more intimate story of a father learning to raise a child, while also updating the camera and making the combat feel heavier. Only two years after the release, developer Santa Monica Studio announced that the much-anticipated sequel God of War: Ragnarok would come out in 2021.
