WWE Monday Night Raw is apparently shifting to a TV-14 rating, which has fans wondering whether or not the on-air product will move in a more adult-oriented direction. Audiences have been witnessing TV-PG shows since 2008, which is when WWE first carried that lower rating. It saw the company move away from unscripted anarchy and towards a show that could be more easily marketed and aimed toward a young audience.
While the company itself has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of financials—even appearing to be recession-proof over the last six months—the in-ring product hasn't done the same. Wrestling fans in their 30s miss the days of the Attitude Era when performers were encouraged to lean into even the most sophomoric of urges. It lead to some of the biggest stars in the history of WWE, including «Stone Cold» Steve Austin and The Rock; a time period some long for as Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar is being set up for seemingly the 112th time.

Dave Meltzer recently weighed in on how he saw the rating change impacting WWE's on-air product. Form the Wrestling Observer Newsletter: "I don’t think it would be blood, since they have been publicly dead set against that, although they had been in the past and changed due to competition having blood in the 90s. I strongly don’t see them going back to the demeaning to women storylines and leaving them in their underwear like in the boom period. I absolutely could see them following AEW with more dirty language." Meltzer noted a recent angle from Raw as evidence: "In particular, USA was said to 'accepting' Lesnar using the word “s***«kicking” at just past 8 p.m. this week when they got the script, but then when Lesnar
