With WWE 2K22 proving to be a significant stop forward for the franchise, wrestling fans have a product that many feel does right by the series' legacy. It's the latest in a long line of WWE games, and though recent years have been unkind, the most recent offering from developer Visual Concepts has proven that the two-year wait was worth it. WWE 2K22 makes a number of critical changes, including a commitment to downloadable content some time in the near future.
DLC isn't anything new for the WWE license, as past entries have offered a number of additional characters, accelerators, and move sets that bring something new to each games' presentation. This time, much of the DLC emphasis has been on celebrity superstars, allowing players to take to the ring as Machine Gun Kelly or Mr. T. However, one could argue the addition of Logan Paul makes far more sense than the A-Team, Hall of Famer, or the VMA award-winning rapper responsible for WrestleMania 28's theme song «Invincible.»
How WWE 2K22's Roster Compares With Other Installments
WWE 2K22 looks set to introduce YouTube content creator and host Logan Paul on July 19. Paul, known for his work on the Impaulsive podcast and having a YouTube following of over 23 million subscribers, is no stranger to media attention. His recent work with the WWE will result in a match at WrestleMania 38 partnering with The Miz to take on Rey and Dominik Mysterio. On the surface, bringing him to WWE 2K22 seems like an odd choice, as his in-ring ability is somewhat limited. Yet, it will surely entice many players to experience the «Whole Damn Pack» additional content, further boosting the game's success.
