According to the information provided by WABetaInfo earlier, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C users will not be able to use WhatsApp on their devices. The online messaging application will stop working in some versions of Android and iOS in order to let the company introduce certain new functionalities that may not work on old operating systems. Also, because these old phones are no longer safe to use as they cannot be upgraded to the latest software. And now, WhatsApp will drop the support for iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C.
WABetaInfo revealed earlier this year, “Unfortunately, due to some internal reasons, WhatsApp is now really planning to drop the support for certain iOS versions over the coming months: we're talking about iOS 10 and iOS 11!”
The report also included an in-app WhatsApp screenshot which read, “Update to the latest version of iOS to continue using WhatsApp. WhatsApp will stop supporting this version of iOS after 24 Oct 2022.”
iPhone users can simply update their iOS firmware to continue using WhatsApp. To update your iOS version, go to Settings, tap on General and then tap on Software Update.
