The Lord of the Rings is one of the largest fantasy properties in the 21st century. It has spawned two trilogies, multiple video games, and Amazon is working on a prequel show, The Rings of Power. Traveller's Tales LEGO games even explored the land of Middle-Earth with two separate titles, one based on The Lord of the Rings and the other based on The Hobbit, and the characters were utilized in Traveller's Tales toys-to-life game Lego Dimensions.
Each of the Middle-Earth LEGO games garnered fans, but Traveller's Tales has not explored that world since 2015. As Amazon's The RIngs of Power nears release, now is the perfect time for the LEGO franchise to return to Middle-Earth. Fans have been clamoring for it, and with the scope of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, a LEGO Middle-Earth game would be an easy thing for Traveller's Tales to accomplish.
A LEGO Doctor Who Game Could Be Great
In 2012, Traveller's Tales released its first Middle-Earth centric title, LEGO The Lord of the Rings. The game is the second LEGO title to use voice acting, and the first to utilize voices pulled directly from films. The title adapts the three Lord of the Rings movies over 18 levels in hilarious LEGO fashion and lets players explore a fully realized open-world version of Middle-Earth. They can walk all the way from the Shire to Mordor and gather collectables on their way. Each character also has their own personal inventory and players can collect various magical items to use on their adventures. Upon release, the game received positive reviews, and many Lord of the Rings fans flocked to it.
