Wordle has become so popular that it’s spawning a seemingly endless series of knock-off games. There’s Framed, the Wordle-clone where you guess the movie based on a single frame from the film, and then there’s Heardle, where you guess the song based on an escalating section of music. And now there’s Cloudle, the Wordle-like where you guess the five-day forecast of a specific city.
Cloudle was created by Rob Ousbey, a former marketing executive who now builds bots. Going from bot-building to Wordle-like isn’t too much of a stretch, but instead of making a game that guesses any old thing, Ousbey threw his love for meteorology and geography into the game.

Cloudle first gives players a city somewhere in the world and then gives them a selection of possible forecasts for the next five days. Options include sunny, partially cloudy, cloudy, very cloudy, fog, scattered showers, showers, thunderstorms, and snow. You’ll note there are far fewer options to choose from than Wordle, meaning even non-meteorologists can easily guess the forecast.
A helpful clue is in the city itself. Today, for example, the city is Giza Egypt, which is unlikely to experience snow in April (although Egypt has seen snow in the past, it’s exceptionally rare). It’s also a fairly dry climate, so rain and fog are unlikely as well. Take these hints as free clues. People who live in the city also have an unfair advantage since they likely already know the five-day forecast.
