The first 30 minutes of The Quarry's gameplay shows off difficult choices and a variety of scares. Serving as a spirtual successor of sorts of Supermassive Games' beloved Until Dawn, teen slasher game The Quarry boasts a star-studded cast packed with horror movie icons such as Scream's David Arquette, Lin Shaye from Insidious, and Lance Henriksen who starred in Aliens.
After shipping Until Dawn in 2015, Supermassive Games produced a couple of virtual reality spinoff titles before using its genre talents to develop the first Dark Pictures Anthology entry, Man of Medan. Notably, Supermassive's eight-game deal with publisher Bandai Namco for the anthology series has, thus far, culminated in three separate projects while a fourth installment, The Devil in Me, remains on track for a 2022 release date. It seems The Quarry will hit store shelves first, however, offering up a teen horror adventure whose supposedly lighter tone should still prove welcoming to fans of Until Dawn.

Things get a little out of hand when the two swerve off the road to avoid hitting an unknown object in the middle of the street. Quicktime events, exploration, an encounter with a creepy cop, and a host of difficult decisions round out The Quarry's opening segment.
