Apple is expected to launch an upgrade for its 10.2-inch iPad later this year, and leaked renders reveal some of its design elements. The current-generation 10.2-inch iPad comes with tapered sides and features a Home button on the bottom bezel. It also has a Lightning port for charging despite repeated pleas from users to switch over to USB-C. However, if the latest leaked renders are anything to go by, the incoming model could bring at least some of those much-wanted changes.
Apple, which is expected to launch its first OLED iPads in 2024, has been steadily revamping the designs of its new iPads over the past few years. Most new models now feature flat edges, thinner bezels and a more contemporary design language overall. They have also ditched the physical Home button in yet another move from the company to deprecate Touch ID in favor of Face ID. Unfortunately, the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad is the only holdout, rocking the old design from a bygone era.

The new leaked renders of what's said to be the 10th-generation iPad were published today by MySmartPrice, revealing some of the critical design aspects of the incoming device. The renders are said to have been shared by a case maker and give a full view of the device from all sides. According to the leak, the device will be 248.62mm long, 179.5mm wide, and 6.98mm thick. That is wider but slimmer than the current-gen model, suggesting that the device could come with a slightly larger display. The idea is backed up by the renders, which seem to show thinner bezels at the front compared to the existing model.
Meanwhile, despite the slightly thinner bezels, the overall front design remains unchanged.
