A recent update from Valve shows the company is ready to fulfill Steam Deck reservations for Q4, with emails going out to eagerly awaiting customers. Things have been going well for the company on this front, especially given Valve's shaky history when it comes to hardware endeavors. Given the handheld PC's popularity and the praise that's been following in its wake, many have been hoping to get hold of the device before the end of this year, and it looks as though that's a real possibility.
The Steam Deck queue has already been going down quickly, with the developer getting through reservations more swiftly than anticipated. Some in the later queues had started receiving emails about being able to purchase the system and believed it had been sent out by mistake. However, Lawrence Yang, a designer at Valve, stated that this was not an error and some people who were due to purchase their Steam Deck in Q4 were getting moved to Q3. That was just a month ago, and now it seems things are still speeding along.

The update from Valve, posted to the official Steam page, states that the company is flying through reservations «at an accelerated pace.» This is due to the increased production rate of the Steam Deck, with the post going on to say that the developer has beaten its estimates again. As a result, those in the queue for the next quarter will be getting an email soon, if they haven't already, as Q3 reservations have now been «done early.» Valve also says that the store page has been updated to say that anyone who reserves one should be able to make a purchase between September and December.
