According to a keynote speaker, the Steam Deck handheld system has now shipped over a million units, and still more are due to be sent out. Since launching in February of this year, it's clear that the mobile PC has been a huge hit with gamers, to such an extent that companies like Razer are looking to compete with the Steam Deck by offering up their own portable gaming machine. While the current method of buying the Deck involves joining an online queue, the developer has been getting through them at a high rate.

With Steam Deck Q4 emails going out recently, it looks as though people who have pre-ordered one should be able to get it by the end of the year, possibly in time for Christmas. That's a pretty exciting prospect for anyone who's been wanting to purchase the device, and it really shows how Valve, having increased production not long ago, has been able to send them out to customers at a rate of knots.
