Originally reported by Cineflux and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, King Richard star Eman Esfandi has been cast as Ezra Bridger for Disney's upcoming live-action Ashoka TV show. Bridger was a fan-favorite character from the animated TV show, Star Wars: Rebels and will be crossing over into live action with this debut.
Rosario Dawson is returning as former Jedi Ahsoka Tano and will be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Mandalorian pilot and artist Sabine Wren. Liu Bordizzo's Wren character is also making her live-action debut with this series. Should the rumored addition of Twi-lek pilot Hera Syndulla come to fruition, this will be the first time the crew of the Ghost will be together on screen as live-action characters.
Fans might remember that in the series finale of Star Wars: Rebels, Ezra vanished along with Grand Admiral Thrawn, and in the final scene, Ahsoka and Sabine set off to find him. The character hasn't been seen in any Star Wars media since. However, eagle-eyed fans spotted the Rebels ship, the Ghost, during the last dog fight in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno have joined the cast of Ahsoka with Star Wars alum Hayden Christensen possibly in tow to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker once again. At last weekend's D23 Expo, there wasn't a slew of news concerning the Ahsoka series but plenty of Mandalorian Season 3 updates as well as Andor and the Tales of the Jedi animated shorts.
