Amiibo have been a staple of the Splatoon series since the first game. As well as being highly collectible figures, the Splatoon amiibo sets are often hard to come by, which can be a frustration for players new to the game. Most of the amiibo currently available provide rewards and come with unique gear sets that can only be unlocked by scanning the amiibo into the game.
The newest game in the series, Splatoon 3, will receive its very own set of amiibo in the months to come. On the main square in Splatoon 3, head towards the giant empty amiibo box and press A. The next screen should ask for the amiibo to be held onto the correct NFC touchpoint. Once this has been done, the amiibo will be pulled into the box in-game, and the exclusive items will be unlocked for use. Here is a look at the currently available amiibo from the first two Splatoon games and what they unlock in Splatoon 3.

The other amiibo available appear to do nothing at the moment besides allowingplayers to save their styles onto them. The amiibo that are mentioned above, which provide rewards, do also allow for styles to be saved on them so that they don’t become lost when changing clothes. It serves as a handy way for players to keep that favorite setup saved and ready to go next time it is needed.
