Following the return of past Spider-Men and villains in Spider-Man: No Way Home, many fans have been speculating whether the upcoming animated sequel,Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One), will tie into the MCU multiverse. Now, the writers of the long-awaited film have weighed in on the possible connection.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will continue the cinematic story of Miles Morales, which began with Into the Spider-Verse. While that first film focused on several versions of Spider-Man from different universes, Marvel Studios' No Way Home followed in its footsteps with a live-action version of the multiverse, though Sony's animated world and the MCU did not have any connection up to this point, but that may soon change.
Spider-Man: No Way Home Vs Into The Spider-Verse — Which Multiverse Movie Is Better?
In an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, writing/producing duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord opened up about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its possible ties to the MCU. When asked if the film could tie into No Way Home as well as future Marvel projects, Miller replied, «The Multiverse is big and wide. And all things grow… Why would you think a Multiverse, in which many things are possible, that [those things are] not related?» Miller then sarcastically added, «Everything's possible except for this one thing that everyone wants.» Even though it is unclear whether or not those connections are true, there is definitely no ruling out anything, especially after seeing the three live-action Spider-Men interacting on screen together while also taking into consideration the amount of cameos rumored to be in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
