There's nothing quite as sad as a game getting phased out, only for its respective console or peripheral to take up space and remind you of the good times. How many Nintendo Power Gloves had to be thrown out, creating an inflation of right-handed electronic gloves? How many Guitar Hero sets had to be trashed, leaving bittersweet memories while air-guitaring? However, there was one person who couldn't part with their Donkey Kong Jungle Beat DK Bongos, so they made a whole new game for them.
As spotted by NintendoLife, YouTuber Cobra Code seems to have a number of videos dedicated to the DK Bongos. They've played Sekiro using the bongos, and now, they created an all new game for it, Beat Bull. They published a video showcasing how they developed the game, along with some gameplay. "Bull Beat is a custom game I made specifically for the DK Bongos which are a special controller for the Nintendo Gamecube," said the creator on the YouTube video. "Donkey Konga and Donkey Kong Jungle beat supported this controller and Bull Beat is a spiritual successor to the later which I created with Unreal Engine 5 over the course of 3 months."

It's a 3D side-scroller which actually looks pretty good. You play as a minotaur, charging its way through what appear to be ancient Greek ruins floating in astral space. There are environmental interactions to make the minotaur jump and also collect coins.There's also a semi-Soulslike combat system – when you come face-to-face with a large enemy, the running stops, and you need to use the bongos to attack, block and parry. Thankfully the enemies don't look a nightmarish as that you'd find in a Souls game.
