Fallout 4 was the first game to introduce settlement building into the series. It allowed players to build around certain locations so that wastelanders could move in and populate them, creating a sort of safe zone. Players used this new feature in many different ways — from min-maxing resources to create the best possible settlement, to building a vibrant home base with intricate designs.
That said, some of these potential settlements in Fallout 4 have more to them than meets the eye. Each has its own story to tell, though, for many, that story has been lost to time. In some cases, however, a settlement may still hold remnants of its past inhabitants — some of which are nothing short of disturbing.

The Taffington Boathouse is located directly east of the town of Covenant in Fallout 4. The settlement is made up of a dilapidated pre-war house with two stories and a large shed, built next to a river. When the Sole Survivor first arrives at the place, they’ll have to fight through a small horde of bloodbugs, after which they can access the area’s workshop and start building.
Inside the house, the player will come across the body of a woman named Mary Sutton. On her corpse is a note from her daughter, Margie: The note explains that Margie’s brother, Russell, had found an old holotape talking about a stash of Fallout 4 chems in the nearby drainage pipe, and that he wanted to go and look for it. The family could then sell the chems and use the caps to buy a new brahmin.
