Spring has arrived and with it another major Xbox sales event. The Xbox Spring Sale is offering discounts of up to 80% off Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S games on hundreds of games, bundles, and DLC. As is becoming a tradition for Xbox holiday events, some Xbox players will also be getting a special gift in the mail. Several Xbox users have confirmed that Xbox is once again sending out gift cards, seemingly at random.
Multiple Xbox users have shared on social media that they've received gift cards from Xbox via the email associated with their Xbox accounts. It seems like the amount given has consistently been $5. It isn't clear how many gift cards have been sent out, so while they may be rare Xbox users should still check to see if they've received some free Xbox bucks.
Rumor: Xbox Game Pass Could Be Getting Combined With Xbox Live Gold
Xbox users are able to spend their gift cards as they please via the Xbox and Microsoft storefronts, whether it's on games, DLC, movies, or apps. There is one catch, however. The gift cards will expire if they aren't used by July 16 later this year. That's quite a ways away, but could be easy to miss if Xbox users don't regularly shop digitally.
$5 may not go so far, but it will go further due to the ongoing Xbox Spring sale. Games including Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Vanguard, WWE 2K22, and Halo Infinite are discounted. There are also plenty of games that cost just $5, for those who don't want to spend any money whatsoever. These games include Resident Evil 2, Sunset Overdrive, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Halo 5: Guardians, and Doom 3. The sale ends in 12 days, around April 21.
This isn't the first time that Xbox has done such giveaways. It's becoming a regular event when Xbox holds big
