After two years of rumours, Konami may finally reveal something new for Silent Hill in the coming months.
It’s very easy to lose track of all the Silent Hill rumours that have popped up over the last couple of years. Some say Hideo Kojima is making a new entry, others say it’s The Medium developer Bloober Team. Some say it’s brand new, others that it’s a remake.
The general consensus at the moment seems to be that Konami has multiple Silent Hill projects in development, one of which is a remake of Silent Hill 2.
Now, another rumour is suggesting that fans could finally see an actual reveal in the near future, possibly even by the end of this month.
Recently, Konami said it will announce a new entry in a ‘world-beloved’ series during Tokyo Game Show.
However, various insiders claimed that whatever it is (possibly Suikoden) has nothing to do with Konami’s most notable franchises, aka Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent Hill.
Nevertheless, VGC’s Andy Robinson believes some kind of Silent Hill reveal may happen sooner than expected, according to his own sources.
‘As with all reporting on timings I wouldn’t take that as gospel, but fans possibly won’t have to wait much longer,’ he wrote on Twitter.
This suggests that Konami will announce something before the end of the year. Although fellow insider Jeff Grubb stoked the flames further by responding to Robinson’s claim with a September GIF.
Aside from the Tokyo Game Show, there are no other confirmed events that Konami could hold a Silent Hill reveal but if it was that you’d think Grubb would give a more explicit clue.
There is the rumoured Nintendo Direct, but the series has little association with that platform and Nintendo hasn’t been mentioned in any of the previous rumours.
