One of the ways that Salt and Sacrifice takes inspiration from the Monster Hunter series is through its crafting mechanics. In the game, you will encounter and defeat a whole host of mages and their minions, who will drop various materials. You could sell these items for a pittance or put them to good use, turning them into pieces of equipment.

You can craft equipment at the forge in Pardoner's Vale, just northeast of Champion Hera. The fiery forge allows you to create items, and the nearby enchanting table allows you to upgrade them. Getting better equipment is one of the best ways to get (and feel!) stronger in Salt and Sacrifice.
The tables below detail the various pieces of equipment that you unlock by defeating a certain type of mage. Every time you defeat a new mage type, you'll unlock the following for crafting:
To get the key to your hut, speak to the NPC next to the Hunter Item Upgrade table once you've crafted at least one trophy. The hut is to her right.
Specifically, these tables contain the types of weapons, the class and type of armor, and the effects of the accessories they unlock. There are five tables, sorted by the location you will first encounter the mage type.
To craft these items, you will need only the items that the mages themselves (and the enemies they summon during a chase) drop.
