Popular Twitch livestreamer Tony «RSGloryAndGold» Winchester, known mostly for playing RuneScape, passed away on October 12 after a long struggle with brain cancer. RSGloryAndGoldleaves behind a family that confirmed his death on October 14 to a Twitch following of over 351,000, and 220,000 YouTube subscribers garnered over the course of six years.
RSGloryAndGold died at age 69, and the RuneScape pro had been incredibly transparent about his journey through YouTube videos that gave health updates every step along the way. Knowing that his days were limited because of his battle with brain cancer, RSGloryAndGold opened a GoFundMe five days before his death in order for his fans to be able to help his family pay for the funeral. Beyond his regular Twitch livestreaming, RSGloryAndGold also posted YouTube videos with tips on earning RuneScape gold, gearing up, banning harmful players, conquering others in PvP, and more.
RSGloryAndGold's family confirmed the RuneScape content creator's death on Twitter and a brief YouTube video explaining the precise cause of his passing, noting that he was surrounded by family and wasn't in pain. The GoFundMe that began ahead of time has a goal of $50,000, and it has already made over $40,000 which may help his family members cover the cost of the funeral that RSGloryAndGold may have been hoping for. News of RSGloryAndGold's death has caused a plethora of messages to spread around social media from the RuneScape community and beyond to commemorate the Twitch streamer.
Prior to his death, RSGloryAndGold made a post for GoFundMe donors in which he spoke candidly about pain and partial blindness experienced from two malignant tumors that prevented him from streaming like he normally would.
