Redmi K50i is more powerful than the iPhone 13 – that is what Xiaomi says in its latest social media post. In a recent bid to promote the upcoming Redmi K50i, Xiaomi says that the Redmi K50i is easily beating some of the most performance oriented smartphones in the market. The one that caught our eyes was the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which is beaten on paper by the Redmi K50i’s chipset on AnTuTu. The Apple A15 is a mighty capable chip and any phone able to beat that on benchmark is immensely capable.
While Redmi conveniently hides what chipset powers the phone, it is evident the Mediatek Dimensity 8100 will be doing duty under the hood. The Dimensity 8100 offers the same kind of performance as the Snapdragon 888 and is already present on the Redmi Note 11T Pro, the phone is rebranded as the Redmi K50i for India. The AnTuTu chart shows the Dimensity 8100 beats the Snapdragon 888 and obviously the Snapdragon 778G+, the chip that will power the Nothing Phone (1).
While the higher numbers give the Redmi K50i an edge here, it is the real world performance that matters a lot. Hence, we always recommend to choose your next smartphone based on the user experience and not on how many points it scored on synthetic benchmark. Moreover, Redmi swept aside the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chips.
Nonetheless, the Dimensity 8100 is a powerful chip and should help gamers achieve higher raw performance figures. The Dimensity 8100 had left us impressed on the Realme GT Neo 3 with its sustained performance.
