Redmi 10 joins the Redmi lineup of smartphones in 2022 after the Redmi Note 11 series. As the name suggests, the Redmi 10 is the most affordable Xiaomi smartphone this year that shares some of its components with the 4G variant of the Redmi Note 11. No reason as to why Xiaomi avoided naming it the Redmi 11 but the pricing could make a lot of buyers in India happy. In fact, starting at Rs. 10,999, this is the most affordable smartphone that Redmi has launched this year in India.
The Redmi 10 will be available across Mi.com, Flipkart.com, Mi Home and Mi Studio stores starting March 24, 2022, 12:00 noon onwards. There are two variants on offer at the moment, with the base variant retailing at Rs. 10,999 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. For Rs. 12,999, you get the 6GB+128GB variant. HDFC bank members can avail an additional discount of Rs. 1,000 using credit cards and credit EMI.
The Redmi 10’s highlight feature is its Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is also used on the Redmi Note 11 4G variant. This in paired with a UFS 2.2 storage that is rare to find in this price segment. The phone also gets up to 8GB expandable Virtual RAM feature. Redmi has launched the phone with MIUI 13 out of the box, although there is no information now whether it comes with Android 11 or Android 12.
On the rear, the Redmi 10 gets a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. The front camera relies on a 5MP sensor. A 6000mAh battery powers the phone and you get an 18W wired charging solution out of the box.
The Redmi 10 gets a bigger 6.71-inch display than its predecessor but it only offers 720p resolution this time. Redmi 10 offers Widevine L1 Certification for the display, gets a 1.5W loudspeaker and offers the conventional 3.5mm jack.
