Valentine's Day might not be until Monday, but PlayStation has revealed it will be celebrating the most romantic holiday of the year all weekend long. PS4 and PS5 owners will be able to celebrate Valentine's day by getting PS Plus absolutely free for the next three days. The ability to play multiplayer games online without needing to have a PS Plus subscription.
“Share the multiplayer love this Valentine's Day! Play online with family and friends from February 12-14, no PlayStation Plus required,” the reveal reads on the PlayStation website. The tweet below highlights Fall Guys as a top choice to play with the one you love this weekend, while the post on the PlayStation site also nudges happy couples towards Monster Hunter World and FIFA 22.

The free weekend begins at 12:01 am local time on Saturday, February 12, 2022, and will run all weekend through February 14, coming to an end at 11:59 pm local time. While you will be able to access multiplayer features for free over that three-day period, others PS Plus perks will remain locked away. For example, you won't be able to download February's free PS Plus games. That will still require a subscription.
PlayStation does these free weekends on a semi-regular basis, usually with a theme attached like Valentine's Day. However, this might be the last one we see in this form. Rumors continue to swirl suggesting PS Plus is not long for this world, at least not as we know it. Something codenamed Spartacus being worked on behind the scenes at Sony will reportedly be PlayStation's take on Game Pass. The new service will combine PS Plus and PS Now to create something new.
