One of the most fun things about following a bunch of game developers on Twitter is that you get to see the process of how some really cool indie games are made. That’s exactly what happened to me with Dan DeEntremont‘s upcoming project Squirrel with a Gun — and yes, that’s exactly what it sounds like.
The first I saw of this awesome game was a viral tweet from back in May of this year, where he showed off the first time he got fur on the squirrel. The whole thing looks insanely realistic, and obviously, the fact that the little fluffy rodent was holding and firing a gun caught everyone’s attention. (I mean, who doesn’t love a game with a fluffy, adorable protagonist.)

Of course, the game has developed a whole lot more in the past few months, and it’s pretty fun to scroll through DeEntremont’s Twitter page and see all of the progress videos compiled in one spot.
Squirrel with a Gun has rightfully gotten a lot of attention over the past few months, because I haven’t seen a game capture the internet’s sense of humor so accurately in a long time. Now the game has finally been listed on Steam, and while we may not have any kind of release window yet, it’s cool to see a small developer making bits steps like that. I know I’m adding it to my wish list.
