Mordhau arrived on PC a few years ago and has since sliced its way into many player's hearts as an online multiplayer medieval hack-and-slash fighter. Now the game is heading to Xbox and PlayStation it's been announced.
The announcement came with a first-look trailer showing off a quick montage of gameplay on consoles (via IGN - linked below). There is no release date as yet, but the title is "coming soon" to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5.

Mordhau was part financed by a Kickstarter campaign in 2017, which raised almost $300,000. It would release on Windows PC in April 29, 2019. It became a hit with players enjoying the skill needed to become competitive and the hand-to-hand combat, which uses historical techniques such as feints, redirection, and different weapon types. The game was fairly true to its medieval time period and featured siege engines, jousting, and duels.
There are various game modes in the PC title, including Frontline which supports up to 48 players split into two teams, and battling for points by duelling each other; Invasion, which sees two teams of 48 players either attacking key objectives or defending them. The game also has a Battle Royale mode with 64 players competing in a free-for-all. These helped Mordhau to become a success as it sold over 500,000 copies within a month and topping Steam sales charts.
It was a breakout hit for Triternion, a developer from Slovenia. According to PC Gamer, Mordhau was initially developed by a solo dev, one Marko Grgurovič, a PhD student researching computer science at the University of Primorska in Slovenia.
