Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft Legends will be released on April 18, 2023.
The release date was announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct showcase on Wednesday, which was also used to show off new gameplay.
“Explore lush biomes filled with treasures and perils, meet new friends, and reunite with familiar mobs. Lead your friends and face the piglins in intense battles – but be warned: they always fight back,” reads the description accompanying a new trailer, which is viewable below.
“Minecraft Legends will let you play the story-driven campaign as an online co-op experience together with your friends,” said Mojang Studios creative director Magnus Nedfors.
“And it will also feature a PvP gameplay mode were two teams with up to four players each works to destroy the opposing team’s space.”
Co-developed by Mojang and Blackbird Interactive, the action-strategy game will be released for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One And Xbox Series X/S. It will support cross-platform play and online matchmaking.
