Top Gun: Maverick is now reaching the cinema halls as you read and Microsoft wants you to have the same experience on your Xbox console, or your Windows PC. Do you recall the Microsoft Flight Simulator? Yes, that game that came out on 2021 with life-like graphics for a console game? You can now download its latest update for free and get to enjoy the Top Gun Maverick content in the game. In fact, Microsoft has released a trailer video for the same showing the new Top Gun livery as well as some new missions that players can enjoy with the latest patch installed.
As part of the free update, Microsoft is offering the chance to get the Top Gun experience with a Top Gun: Maverick Edition livery on the F/A-18E Super Hornet. Additionally, you will be able to use the aircraft in three training missions, one of which includes a tricky aircraft carrier landing challenge. Note that these missions will make players on the game to learn take-offs, high-speed manoeuvre, and some low-altitude stunt sequences inspired from the Top Gun: Maverick movie.
Sadly, there is no Tom Cruise in this update (would have been super exciting though).
But that is not all for the Top Gun content. After the training missions are over, the game will let you play five new challenges that will test traversing through canyons and above mountains at very high speeds. The expansion pack also includes access to a hypersonic aircraft that can reach speeds of Mach 10, and a new mission to fly into the stratosphere. There is also a mission to fly into the stratosphere! Sounds quite exciting, doesn’t it?
