Loopmancer is an action roguelite that traps a cyberpunk detective in a Groundhog Day video game loop, where he is forced to repeat the same day over whenever he dies while investigating the disappearance of a journalist. Loopmancer has lots of great concepts, but still needs some fine-tuning before it's ready for launch, especially in regard to its combat.
The story of Loopmancer is set in the year 2046. The protagonist is a private eye named Xiang Zixu, who is tasked with finding a journalist named Lisbeth, who has vanished after investigating gangs in the area. Once he arrives at his destination, he encounters Wei Long, a mob boss who has just left prison and holds a vendetta against Zixu. The two fight and Zixu is killed… and he wakes up in his bed on the morning of the same day. Confused, he is once more tasked with finding Lisbeth and runs into Long again, with each death sending him back to the start of the day. While Zixu's main goal is the Lisbeth case, he is also trying to uncover the truth behind the accident that killed his daughter years earlier.
