A dog becoming a samurai in a cat-filled town is bound to draw skeptics, and the heroic Hank in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank receives plenty of both. Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies' new animated martial arts comedy Paws of Fury can now be seen in theaters. The movie also co-stars of Michael Cera's Hank include Kylie Kuioka as Emiko and Cathy Shim as Little Mama.
In Paws of Fury, the village of Kakamucho finds itself under assault by the feudal warlord Ika Chu (Ricky Gervais), with the villagers requesting a new samurai to protect them. However, the arrival of Hank is met with no shortage of derision, Hank being a dog assigned to protect a town full of cats. While Little Mama is one of Hank's many harsh critics, the young Emiko shows much more faith in him.

We speak to Kylie Kuioka and Cathy Shim on their roles as Emiko and Little Mama in Paws of Fury, with each of them sharing some of their heartfelt memories from the making of the film.
Screen Rant: How did you come aboard Paws of Fury?
Kylie Kuioka: Well, it was like a normal audition for me, but it was last minute, because I was moving to a new place. My mom recorded the audition takes on her phone, and a few weeks later, I got a call back, and I was so excited, because I was able to meet the directors Rob [Minkoff], Mark [Koetsir], and Chris [Bailey], and the producers and casting directors. A little while later, I got a call from my agent and manager saying that I booked the role of Emiko, and I was just so thrilled and happy and I was jumping up and down so many times!
