John Travolta posts a touching Bruce Willis tribute on his Instagram following the star's aphasia diagnosis forcing him to step away from acting. Travolta and Willis first began working together with the 1989 comedy Look Who's Talking in which the former stars as a cab driver who begins dating a single mother of a newborn whose point-of-view is narrated by the latter. Though having received mixed reviews from critics, the film was a box office smash, grossing nearly $300 million against its $7.5 million budget, netting it two sequels, the last of which Willis would not return for.
Travolta and Willis would later reunite for Quentin Tarantino's 1994 celebrated crime drama Pulp Fiction in which the former starred as hitman Vincent Vega and the latter as aging boxer Butch Coolidge who is on the run from Vega's boss, Marsellus Wallace. Travolta's work in the film earned him both a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for Best Actor, though he would lose both to Tom Hanks for his Forrest Gump performance. Travolta and Willis only shared two scenes in Pulp Fiction together, in which they briefly interact at Marsellus' bar and later have a confrontation that turns deadly when Butch shoots Vega dead with his own gun.
