Now, TVLine reports that Demimondeis no longer going to happen. Demimondewas ordered to series by HBO in 2018. The plot was kept under wraps, but it was reported as a sci-fi fantasy drama, and in April, it was even announced that Danielle Deadwyler would be playing the lead. The show was reportedly cancelled due to a dispute over a deal between Bad Robot (Abrams’ production company) and WarnerMedia. David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, had reportedly expressed frustration about the deal not being very fruitful.
Despite Demimondeno longer being produced, Abrams has other projects in the pipeline. Abrams is reportedly working on a TV adaptation of Speed Racer. He’s also developing a new documentary called The Blue Angels about a flight squadron in the Navy and Marine Corps. Though fans won’t get to know what the filmmaker had in store for Demimonde, there’s plenty more to come from the prolific filmmaker.
